FAQ’s

Q: What are some of the perks of being a Lily Bride?

A: As a ‘thank you’ for purchasing your gown with us, we offer a 10% Lily Bride discount. This is applicable to any additional purchases related to your wedding (after your gown purchase). It applys to veils, jewelry, shoes, etc. and extends to our sister boutique, Styled by Lily Saratoga, where we have a large selection of Bridesmaid Dresses, MOB/MOG Gowns, Flower Girl Dresses & Little White Dresses.

Q: What happens after I purchase my dress?

A: We will place your order with the designer! Depending on which designer you selected, your gown will take anywhere from 3-7 months to arrive (unless you ordered a quick-ship dress or selected a rush option!). As soon as your dress arrives, we will contact you to set up a “First Try-On” Appointment

Q: What is a “First Try-On” Appointment?

A: This is when you get to try on your very own wedding gown! It is not an appointment with a seamstress, but our chance to see you in your gown and make sure everything is as expected. This appointment will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Please see other important information below:

  • This appointment should be scheduled within 60 days of your gown’s arrival

  • Remaining balances are due at this time. If you paid your deposit with cash or check, your balance must be paid in the same form

  • This is a great time to decide on finishing touches, such as veils, jewelry, shoes & hairpieces

  • We do not have seamstresses on staff, though we will discuss overall fit and what may need to be done during alterations. We will provide you with a list of talented alteration specialists in the area that we can refer you to

Q: Do I have to take my gown home with me after it arrives?

A: As a part of our services, we offer free gown storage for up to one year (from the date of arrival)

Q: Can you share some information about the alteration process?

A: Though procedures do vary by seamstress, your first fitting should generally be about 12 weeks before your wedding. That being said, we recommend contacting a seamstress as soon as possible to schedule your first appointment - they can book up quickly!

  • Most brides need at least 2 appointments with a seamstress. Depending on the scope of what needs to be done, you may need 3-5 appointments. Starting 12 weeks out will ensure your seamstress has enough time to complete everything!

  • Alteration costs range from $300-$800, with most brides spending around $500. This includes: modifications to the bust/straps, a hem & bustle.
