Meet the Lily Ladies

Owner, Laura Adie

I first walked into Lily Saratoga in 2009 and immediately fell in love with its charm, warmth, and welcoming atmosphere. At the time, I was working for a family-owned jewelry store, where I developed a deep appreciation for small business and discovered my passion for the wedding industry.

In 2014, one of Lily’s previous owners, Maureen, approached me about taking over the boutique. While boutique ownership had never been part of my plan, I felt incredibly honored — and knew almost instantly that Lily was where I was meant to be.

Since then, my goal has been to preserve the heart of Lily while thoughtfully evolving the experience for today’s brides. Over the years, we’ve expanded our designer collections, grown our online presence, and become increasingly committed to offering an inclusive shopping experience, including a larger selection of plus-size bridal gowns.

In 2022, I opened Styled by Lily Saratoga, our sister boutique dedicated to bridesmaid, little white, and mother-of collections. Located just down the street from Lily, Styled now offers more than 1,000 styles, creating a one-stop destination for bridal parties and special occasions alike.

What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built along the way — the incredible women I’ve had the privilege to work beside, and the thousands of brides we’ve been honored to help celebrate such meaningful moments in their lives..

Something you want people to know about Lilys? How truly unique and wonderful every single person who has ever worked at Lily is. How important it is that this shop is run and staffed by all women.

Favorite dress in the store? Sofia by Enaura Bridal

What is your favorite question to ask brides during an appointment? What is the vibe of the wedding? I love getting to hear all of the details of the brides wedding day and learning the special touches that each couple is putting on their wedding day!

What is a piece of advice that you would give to a bride coming dress shopping for the first time at Lily Saratoga? Be open to trying on new styles. Gowns look much different on a hanger than they can on you, try something that you think you won’t like, you truly never know!

Operations Manager, Sarah Wietsma

Sarah loves coming to work every day and being able to combine her passion for weddings with background in event coordination. Having planned and coordinated many weddings in her career, she understands just how important the little details are when finding the perfect wedding dress.

What brought you to Lilys? I actually found my own wedding dress here when I was a bride in 2020! I remember walking in feeling nervous about shopping as a plus size bride, but within minutes I realized I had nothing to worry about. I felt heard, comfortable, and had so many beautiful options to choose from! When I decided to step away from event planning, joining the Lily’s team felt like the perfect next chapter.

What is your favorite part of coming to work each day? Lily is such a supportive and warm place to work! Our entire team genuinely looks forward to helping brides every day. We’re surrounded by beautiful gowns and get to be part of such an exciting milestone. I feel our positive energy is something our brides can feel the moment they walk through the door.

What’s the most important thing a bride should bring to her appointment? Bring your most supportive couch VIPS! Finding your wedding dress is exciting and emotional, so you should surround yourself with people who will encourage you in an honest but positive way. And on a practical note - don’t forget to bring a bra for measurements!

Do you have a favorite bridal trend? It may not qualify as a 'trend', but I absolutely love when a bride chooses an overskirt! You get the drama and wow factor of two different looks while only wearing one dress all day!
